Karnataka Sharpshooter, Bags Gold & Bronze at Nationals, Sets Youth Record

In a stunning display of marksmanship Hrudya Shri Kondur, a 12-year-old shooter from Karnataka has made history by becoming the youngest competitor to win a medal at the 66th National Championship. Competing at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Tughlakabad, New Delhi, the young talent clinched GOLD in the 10-meter rifle women (ISSF) civilian category and a BRONZE in the 10-meter rifle Sub Youth Women category.

The prodigious shooter, a student of Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir (SSRVM), has been trained under the guidance of her coach, Akash Prasad Nonia, and the watchful eye of the head coach, P.T Raghunath. Her exemplary performance has been honed at the ZIEL RIFLE SOCIETY, where she put in the hard work that culminated in an impressive score of 629.6 out of 654, the highest score by a female shooter from Karnataka in the competition.

Her recent triumphs include winning gold in both the South Zone CBSE (held in Kollam, Kerala with a score of 399/400) and the National CBSE championships in the under-14 age group (held in Panchkula, Haryana with a score of 412.7), showcasing her consistent excellence and promise as a sharpshooter.

The young athlete’s remarkable achievements have not only brought pride to her school and state but have also positioned her as one of the most promising talents in Indian shooting sports. Her future in the sport looks incredibly bright, and she is certainly one to watch in the years to come.
